Compiled by Carolyn Wimp (2014). Information was abstracted from Meade County, KY Guardian Bond Books and loose Guardian papers found at the Kentucky Department of Libraries and Archives in Frankfort. Many of the bonds contain the name of the parents of the children, which is particularly beneficial to anyone researching someone who lived prior to 1850. Guardians were appointed when a parent or parents were deceased or unable to care for the children. Guardians were also appointed when someone was found incompetent to manage an estate or wanted to marry and was underage. 97 pages. Every-name index.
