Info was abstracted from Hardin County Guardian Books located at KY State Archives in Frankfort, KY. A guardian is one who is legally bound to provide care and management of a person, estate, or both, during a child’s minority. A bond may include names of the parents or grandparents. The age of the child appears in some records. Often a relative was appointed guardian and the relation was stated. Sometimes a note written by the child or guardian was also included with the bond.
